Google Mail for Students in 2012

IT Services announces the adoption of Google Gmail as the new official student email. UARK Gmail offers a 25 GB quota, student access to Google Apps, and an interface familiar to many students. The migration to UARK Gmail saves money for the university while providing a high standard of performance and reliability for student email.

Students will also have access to Google Calendar, Docs, Chat, and Talk. To keep the university in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, however, students cannot be required to use the Calendar, Docs, Chat, or Talk feature.

During 2012, all student email will be moved to UARK Gmail from existing UA Mail accounts. The beginning of an opt-in phase will be announced soon.
