This Saturday at 8 p.m. the Student Astronomical Society will be hosting its first Star Party of the semester atop Kimpel Hall. The event is open to all who would like to attend.

The society will be looking at the moon, Jupiter, the Pleiades (an open star cluster,) and the Orion Nebula. There will also be some asteroid chasing as the near-Earth asteroid Eros is at its peak brightness for viewing. A member will be stationed at the front doors nearest the tower of Kimpel to direct people.

Please join us for this first event to see and learn about astronomical objects. Be sure to dress warmly as it will be chilly atop Kimpel and feel free to bring your own binoculars, which are perfect for asteroid viewing!
