UATV Programs Earn Three Awards in Broadcasting Competition

The University of Arkansas’s student run television station, UATV, recently received three awards  in the South Central Broadcasting Society conference in Austin, Texas. Joe Delnero, station manager, Melissa Bollero, executive news director, Alexandra Marquez, ad/pr director and Jocelyn Murphy, assistant producer for Razorback Reels represented UATV at the conference.

UATV won a first place award in the Music/Entertainment Program division for View from the Hill. The stations received two second place awards, one in the Sports Program Division for the student-produced program Off the Matt and another in the News Broadcast Division for UATV’s Tuesday Night News. Many students who work at UATV are involved in one or more of these productions, and all share credit for the awards.

The South Central Broadcasting Society conference is affiliated with the National Broadcasting Society/Alpha Epsilon Rho. Undergraduate college students from Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas, and any state that borders these states, were invited to attend the Regional Audio and Video Production Competition.

UATV is in its 15th year at the university. It airs on Cox Cable 214 in Northwest Arkansas, channel 22 on campus, and is streamed 24 hours daily at uatvonline.net.
