Oliver Named Fellow of American College of Sports Medicine
Gretchen Oliver
Gretchen Oliver, University of Arkansas assistant professor of kinesiology, has been named a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine. She will be recognized in June at a formal reception for new fellows at the 59th annual meeting in San Francisco.
Advancement to Fellow recognizes professional achievement in the related disciplines of sports medicine, promoting professional development, and encouraging high standards of professional responsibility and service. The objectives of the Fellowship are to recognize distinguished professional achievement in research and service in the field of exercise science and sports medicine, to recognize distinguished service to the American College of Sports Medicine and to encourage continued service in a leadership role.
Oliver serves as clinical coordinator of the graduate athletic training education program and director of the University of Arkansas Sport Biomechanics Group. Her research focuses on the total kinetic chain approach to injury prevention and performance enhancement with major emphasis on baseball and softball youth. She is a member of the faculty of the College of Education and Health Professions and the Honors College.
