Free Admission to Basketball Opener for Military Personnel

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – In honor of Veteran’s Day, all past and present military personnel will be granted free admission to the University of Arkansas men’s basketball season opening game on Nov. 11 against USC Upstate.

Military personnel wishing to take advantage of the offer will need to present their military ID for one complimentary upper deck admission.  All veterans are encouraged to wear their uniforms at the contest.

“On this Veteran’s Day weekend, we are reaching out to those who have served our country or are currently enlisted in the armed forces and inviting them to join us at Bud Walton Arena,” Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long said. “We are grateful for their service and their sacrifice on behalf of all Americans. It is our hope that they will join us Friday night and allow us to demonstrate our appreciation for their dedicated service in protecting our nation.”

The Arkansas-USC Upstate game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip and is the first official game for head coach Mike Anderson. The 17-year Arkansas assistant returned to the Razorbacks in March after a very successful nine-year run as the head coach at both Alabama-Birmingham and Missouri.  Anderson inherited a core group of seven returnees and added seven additional players to the fold for this fall.

To obtain their free admission, military veterans are asked to check in at a table which will be located to the west of the main south entrance to Bud Walton Arena.  Guests who are accompanying those military veterans may also purchase tickets at this table with cash or check.  Credit card purchases for tickets will be located at the south ticket booth.

Season tickets for Razorback basketball are currently on sale and available at the Razorback Ticket Center, by calling 1-800-982-HOGS, or online at ArkansasRazorbacks.com.  Season packages cost $500 and include admission to 20 regular season events as well as both of Arkansas' exhibition contests.
