Worrell-Authored Article Recognized as a Classic

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – An article co-authored by Dean Dan L. Worrell of the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas is being recognized as a classic in the field of business ethics.

The article titled “An Integrative Model for Understanding and Managing Ethical Behavior in Business Organizations” was published in 1990 in the Journal of Business Ethics. The journal is celebrating 30 years of publication by assembling a collection of its articles that it classifies as among its “citation classics.”

“It is an honor to have our article included as one of its classics by the Journal of Business Ethics,” Worrell said. “It is also gratifying that the work that my colleagues and I did continues to have value to other researchers and academics and still is contributing to the study of ethical business behavior.”

Only 33 of the journal’s thousands of articles published were selected for inclusion in the collection that is scheduled for publication in early 2012.

Worrell has served as dean since August 2005. Reappointed in late 2009, he indicated his plans to return to his faculty position in Walton College’s department of management at the end of the 2011-12 academic year.
