Academic Advisement Reports Are Now Interactive
New interactive Academic Advisement Reports are now available to students in up-to-date information through their Student Center in ISIS. The report is essentially an interactive degree check sheet that indicates what courses students have completed and what courses are still needed. The tool is essential for academic advisers, providing them with a wealth of information about student progress through the Advisor Center in ISIS.
“I am very pleased that the advisement report is now available to all students and to their advisers. Tracking degree progress has never been easier,” said Sharon Gaber, provost. “The reports will keep students up-to-date on graduation requirements, helping them plan effectively. This tool is a critical piece in our plans for increasing retention and improving our graduation rates. ”
The Academic Advisement Report is a useful advising tool that should be used in conjunction with the Catalog of Studies and regular meetings with an academic adviser. Students with questions concerning their advisement report should contact their academic adviser or college dean’s office.
“The Academic Advisement Reports give students and advisers information that can help make advising meetings more focused and productive,” said Dave Dawson, associate vice provost for enrollment services and registrar. “While these are not official degree certifications, they do serve as excellent guides for students as they work through their degree requirements. They are also useful tools for advisers in identifying any concerns they see in a student’s progress toward graduation,” Dawson said.
When following the steps below, a real-time advisement report will be generated. There will be times the dynamic feature (real-time) will be turned off due to heavy volume on ISIS such as priority registration and at the very beginning and end of terms. In those cases, students will see the most recently generated report.
Students can view their Academic Advisement Report by logging into ISIS and following these simple steps:
- Go to your Student Center
- Click on the My Academics link
- The My Academics page will open automatically with several options
- Click on the “View my advisement report” link which will open your interactive AAR
A helpful guide in reading and understanding the report can be found at http://registrar.uark.edu/431.php
Advisers can view the reports through their Advisor Center by following these steps:
- Choose your student.
- The student center tab will open automatically with your chosen student.
- Under Academics, click on the ‘Academic Requirements’ option in the “other academic…” drop-down menu.
Since any change to registration or programs may affect degree completion, students are encouraged to view their Academic Advisement Report whenever they make registration changes, after grades are posted at the end of a term, and in preparation for an advising appointment for the next priority registration period.
