Drama Professor Heads to Broadway

Michael Riha, a professor in the drama department, will soon head to New York to work with a Tony Award-winning set designer, Christine Jones. Riha will work with Jones on the upcoming production of On A Clear Day You Can See Forever starring Harry Connick Jr. He will also assist Jones on the set for a production of Rigoletto at the Metropolitan Opera.

Riha met Jones last semester and formed a professional friendship with her, which has led to this opportunity. For one month starting Oct. 15, he will serve as an assistant designer for Jones.

For those who want to follow Riha during his time in New York, he will be blogging about it at michaelrihadesign.blogspot.com.

Jones won the Tony Award in 2010 for her set design for American Idiot.
