Plaza de las Americas Seeking Volunteers

The Hispanic Heritage Month Planning Committee would like to invite you to participate in an upcoming special event:

Plaza de las Americas
Thursday, Sept. 29
11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Arkansas Union Verizon Ballroom

The committee is looking for students, staff, etc. from Spanish-speaking or Latin American countries to share their culture on this day. There are two ways the committee could use your help:

Country Booth – The event will have a booth set up from your country with a presentation board that has photos of your country on it. The committee would like for someone from each country to be by their country table to answer questions about their country and represent it!  If you have some souvenirs, cultural items or anything that you could bring to make the table look more interesting, the committee would love for you to bring those to decorate the table!

Performers – The planning committee is looking for people to perform during Plaza (sing, dance, model fashion, read a poem, etc.). Let the committee know what you could do to share your culture from the stage!

If you can help, please contact Felisha Perrodin at fperrod@uark.edu or Cynthia Smith at csmith@uark.edu.  The deadline to sign up as a table volunteer or as a performer is Friday, Sept. 23.
