Bumpers College Students Win Agricultural Communicator Awards

Megan Crudup was one of four Bumpers College students to win awards in the Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow competition at the Agricultural Media Summit in New Orleans.

Four University of Arkansas students majoring in agricultural education, communication and technology in the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences received awards in the recent Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow contest at the Agricultural Media Summit in New Orleans.

The students are members of the University of Arkansas chapter of Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow. Associate Professor Jefferson D. Miller is faculty adviser.

Megan Crudup of Belton, Mo., won first place and the Award of Excellence in the public relations campaign competition for her entry on "Diesel Technologies." Crudup also received third place awards in the short feature personality profile category and the page layout competition.

Chase Hundley of Jonesboro placed first in the newspaper/tabloid/newsletter category.

Alyssa Pitts of Lincoln placed second in the photography-people category and fifth in the photography-animal category.

Allyson McGuire of Fort Smith placed second in the video production category.

There were 321 entries in the competition, which was open to students in 26 agricultural communications programs in the United States and Canada.
