Entomology student receives the Ozark Hills Daylily Club/Nature’s Calling Scholarship
Amber Tripodi, a doctoral student in entomology, received the Ozark Hills Daylily Club/Nature's Calling Scholarship for her efforts in native bee awareness and conservation. Using molecular and population genetics methods, Tripodi's research aims to characterize the present genetic diversity of local bumble bee species, and to determine whether populations are stable or declining. The Ozark Hills Daylily Club of Bella Vista brings together connoisseurs, hobbyists and developers of daylilies to share their appreciation of daylilies and to promote wider use and appreciation of daylilies regionally. The Northwest Arkansas Garden Co-Op includes the Ozark Hills Daylily Club, Benton County Master Gardeners, Bella Vista Gardening Club and Nature's Calling.
The scholarship was presented by Master Gardeners and Master Naturalists Bill and Emily Robertson, officers in the Ozark Hills Daylily Club and members of the Northwest Arkansas Garden Co-Op.
