Catastrophic leave bank emergency donation drive

The Catastrophic Leave Bank Program assists eligible University employees through medical emergencies, injuries and illnesses incurred by them or eligible family members after the employees exhaust their earned sick leave, annual leave, holidays and compensatory time.

There are two separate banks: one for faculty and one for classified and non-classified staff. The catastrophic leave bank for classified and non-classified staff is critically low. Human Resources is conducting an emergency donation drive during July and August 2011. All 100 percent appointed classified and non-classified employees are eligible to donate to the catastrophic leave bank during the emergency drive. We need your help to continue assisting eligible employees. Donations must be made in one-hour increments and may not exceed a total of 40 hours for the emergency drive. In addition, a donation cannot be accepted if it would reduce the combined sick and annual leave balances of the donor to less than 80 hours.

If you would like to donate to the Catastrophic Leave Bank during the emergency drive, please contact your departmental leave representative to obtain a donation form or download the form from our webpage. Your completed donation form should be given to your department leave representative no later than Aug. 19, 2011
