Fire Department to Postpone Smoke Training in Geology Building
The Fayetteville Fire Department has cancelled plans to conduct firefighter "smoke training" in the former Geology Building on Saturday, July 9.
Additional preparation work needs to be done at the site before it can be used for the training.
The Fire Department plans to reschedule the training next week, but the dates have not been finalized.
The training, when it happens, will involve pumping non-toxic smoke into the basement of the building to simulate fire conditions for training purposes. There will be no fire involved and no danger to the building or the public.
