Global Campus Invites Applications for Grants to Develop Online Courses

The University of Arkansas Global Campus (School of Continuing Education and Academic Outreach) invites academic colleges and schools to apply for grants to support the development of online distance education courses and programs.

The Distance Education Development Grants provide ongoing financial support to University of Arkansas academic units with the goal of increasing enrollment of new students who are location-bound or challenged by family or career responsibilities.

Academic units can apply for up to $3,000 per course ($1,000 per credit hour) for the development of new courses to be administered through the Global Campus. Deadlines for grant applications are set for mid-August and January of each year, depending on the semester and year the new course will be offered. The application form and guidelines are available on the “Faculty & Staff” tab of the Global Campus website.

Courses proposed for funded development must be part of degree programs or credit certificate programs, or courses that serve a specific purpose, such as core curriculum or professional development. Faculty members – with written approval from their department heads/chairs and deans – can send application packages to online@uark.edu or to Global Campus, Attention: Global Campus Online, 2 East Center Street, Fayetteville, AR 72704.
