Intermittent Blackboard Outages

Some users experienced intermittent problems accessing Blackboard over the weekend and early Monday morning. The problem, related to the Blackboard server, is being investigated and addressed. Information Technology Services staff will be on call 24/7 throughout the rest of the semester to resolve any Blackboard problems should they arise.

IT Services is in the process of completing the implementation of the new version of Blackboard. When fully implemented, the new version will reduce the likelihood of outages. "We are fully committed to the continual upgrade of our systems," said Robert Zimmerman, associate vice chancellor of information technology services. "Completing the Blackboard upgrade will give us more system redundancy."
