Law Professor's 'Miranda’s Hidden Right' Selected as Best Paper
University of Arkansas law professor Laurent Sacharoff’s "Miranda's Hidden Right" was selected best paper for the Southeastern Association of Law Schools’ annual call for papers. Sacharoff will present his paper and accept an award in late July at the association's annual conference in Hilton Head, S.C.
“Professor Sacharoff’s scholarship examines this vital subject from a theoretical and historical perspective and provides practical guidance,” said Cynthia Nance, dean of the School of Law. “Laurent’s leading-edge research has the potential to make a positive difference in the lives of real people by expanding the discourse about defendants’ rights and when those rights must be invoked.”
This is the second consecutive year that a School of Law professor has been honored with this award. Professor Uche Ewelukwa won last year for her Homeless Children and the Law in America 1700 To 1900: An International Human Rights Critique.
