Physical Education Professor Elected to District Board of National Association

Angie Smith-Nix

Angie Smith-Nix, a University of Arkansas clinical assistant professor in the department of health science, kinesiology, recreation and dance, was elected Feb. 17 as vice president-elect of the Southern District of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.

Smith-Nix was chosen for the seat from among representatives of 13 states and each of the national association's divisions: dance, sport and leisure, physical education, general and health.

Smith-Nix, who joined the College of Education and Health Professions faculty in 1989, has served the state association in numerous capacities, including president, and is currently serving as the Dance Education Council Chair for the Southern District.
