Staff Senate Announces Outstanding Team of the Year

The University of Arkansas Staff Senate is pleased to announce the Enhanced Learning Center as the 2010 Outstanding Staff Team Award recipient. Team members include Charlotte Lee, Anne Raines, Paula Agee, Bob Haslam, Ron Norvell, Johnathon P. Williams, and Cat Donnelly.

The Enhanced Learning Center, the university’s comprehensive campus-wide academic support center, provides services such as tutoring and supplemental instruction to help students meet their academic goals. In 2010, the center served 11,178 students, more than 50 percent of the student body. Given the large increase in student population, the ELC team members were challenged to find an efficient way to register and track the students receiving services and to keep up with the hours their tutors and supplemental instruction leaders worked. The team rose to the challenge and invented Razortrack, a web application for the iPod Touch. Razortrack also provides a means for students in SI sessions to keep up with their attendance and grades, to provide feedback to the professors whose courses the tutors and SI leaders were supporting, and to evaluate the various services provided.

The Outstanding Staff Team will be recognized at the Staff Senate meeting on Thursday, March 10, at 9:30 a.m. in Giffels Auditorium of Old Main. The team will receive a plaque and a cash award of $2,500. Please join the Staff Senate in congratulating the members of the Enhanced Learning Center!
