Becca Braun

Becca Braun is the Center for Leadership and Community Engagement's Student Leader of the Week for February 6-12.

Braun is from Baton Rouge, La., and is majoring in early childhood education.

Braun is in the Associated Student Government, director of Service Outreach and involved with the ASG Literacy Program and the University of Arkansas Young Democrats.

Braun sees compassion and sincerity and being relentlessly dedicated as key characteristics of a leader. “They should have a solid set of principles that act as their driving force but should also take the input of others seriously,” Braun explained. "Always remain true to yourself and your principles, but do not be afraid to change your approach to achieve a goal when unforeseen obstacles arise.”

Braun’s most memorable Razorback moments are every day spent with her close friends.

Her favorite quote is from Marian Wright Edelman: “Service is the rent we pay to be living. It is the very purpose of life and not something you do in your spare time."

The Student Leader of the Week award recognizes a University of Arkansas undergraduate student for excellence in leadership through campus involvement leadership activities or through volunteer and community service programs.
