The Division of Student Affairs at the University of Arkansas is proud to announce that Angela Williams is the new director of the career development center. Williams replaces Barbara Batson, who retired last month. Williams has been with the University for more than a decade in various positions, from academic counselor to most recently associate director of the career development center.

"Dr. Williams had accomplished great things as associate director and a member of the career development leadership team. She understands student needs for success as well has how to connect them to careers and professions which will result in life-long success," said Mary Alice Serafini, assistant vice provost for student affairs. "We are fortunate to have her leadership and expertise as director of the university career development center."

Williams has earned three degrees from the University of Arkansas. She received her bachelor of arts in psychology in 1988, a masters of education in counseling education in 1991, and her doctorate of education in adult education in 2006.

"I am inspired and grateful that I have been given this awesome opportunity to help students achieve their educational and professional goals. It has always been my passion and dream to do so," Williams said. "The vision of the university career development center is 'a dream, a plan and a purposeful career for every University of Arkansas student.' It’s an ambitious vision, but with the assistance of the wonderful career center staff and the UA faculty and staff, I know it is something we will achieve."
