Faculty/Staff Appreciation Week Sponsored by IMRS

Free weeklong guest passes, discounted membership pricing, free group exercise classes, and a picnic celebrating University of Arkansas faculty and staff are some of the activities scheduled to take place at the HPER Building during the week of July 18-24.

"In light of the recent merit pay suspension, University departments are doing what they can to band together and increase the sense of community among faculty/staff members", said Jeremy Battjes, Director of the Department of Intramural/Recreational Sports. "We're glad that we can help contribute to the University's efforts in showing appreciation for staff and faculty."

University of Arkansas faculty and staff are invited to utilize the open recreation opportunities available in the HPER Building beginning Sunday, July 18 through Saturday, July 24. Current university faculty and staff can obtain a free weeklong guest pass by showing current university ID at the IMRS member services window in HPER 225. The IMRS member services office is open Monday through Friday,8 a.m. - 8 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Sunday 1-5 p.m. Faculty and staff are also welcome to attend scheduled Group Exercise classes during this week. In addition to a weeklong membership and group exercise, faculty and staff are also eligible to purchase and renew annual memberships at a 10 percent discount through August 31.

A faculty and staff appreciation picnic is planned for Thursday, July 22 from 11a.m. - 2 p.m. Join other faculty and staff members on the south and east sides of the HPER Building (facing Stadium Drive and Meadow Street) for hamburgers, hot dogs, and vegetarian options. Free chair massages will be provided by Blue Cliff College. Prize drawings will be held throughout the picnic including: free HPER memberships, massage services, and CPR class registrations.
