Verma Presented Honorary FFA Degree
Lalit Verma, interim dean of Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences
The Arkansas FFA Association awarded an Honorary State FFA Degree to Lalit Verma, interim dean of Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences at the University of Arkansas. The award was presented at the FFA State Convention June 3 at Camp Couchdale in Hot Springs.
Verma was cited for his support of FFA through the Collegiate 4-H/FFA Club sponsored by Bumpers College and by hosting the annual FFA Career Development Event attended by members throughout Arkansas.
“We have found that FFA members make excellent students,” Verma said. “The majors offered by Bumpers College coincide with the academic and career interests of many FFA members in plants, animals, food, business, the natural environment and the human environment.”
Verma has served as interim dean of Bumpers College since July 2008 and returns on July 1 to his position as head of the university’s department of biological and agricultural engineering.
