Dr. Jin Woo Kim receives the award from chapter President Douglas Rhoads.

Dr. Jin Woo Kim, a professor of biological and agricultural engineering, was honored with the John Imhoff Outstanding Research Publication Award on April 21. The award is from the University of Arkansas Chapter of Sigma Xi, the honors research society, and recognizes Kim's paper, which appeared in Nature Nanotechnology in 2009. Kim was the lead author on the paper titled "Golden carbon nanotubes as mutimodal photoacoustic and photothermal high-contrast molecular agents."

The Imhoff Award was established by Professor John Imhoff who was a professor and head of the department of industrial engineering. He also served for several years as the chapter president of Sigma Xi. Past winners and chapter activities can be found at http://www.uark.edu/misc/exeye/.
