Global Campus Opens Classes to Teachers

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – As part of its outreach effort to serve the community the University of Arkansas Global Campus is collaborating with Nick Tschepikow, director of the Northwest Arkansas Education Renewal Zone, to offer professional development hours to teachers seeking recertification.

The Education Renewal Zone, located within the College of Education and Health Professions, was created in 2005 to address the needs of schools in Washington, Benton and Madison counties.

Professional development programs currently open for teacher enrollment are offered in conjunction with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. The institute offers educational and enrichment opportunities in the arts and humanities, and is administered through the Global Campus.

  • Keeping Up with Jones's, 10535, April 19 

Teachers may call the Global Campus office of conferences, special programs and professional studies at 479-575-3458 to register. Callers should indicate they are taking advantage of the Osher Institute option for enrolling in classes for the teacher recertification credit. To register, teachers need pay only the fee for the class.

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is a proud supporter of education and offers these classes as a service to the northwest Arkansas community.

The Osher Institute at the University of Arkansas is one of 120 lifelong learning programs nationwide to provide noncredit educational and enrichment opportunities for people ages 50 years and older. The programs receive support from the Bernard Osher Foundation based in San Francisco, Calif.
