McLoud Named Interim Director for Human Resources
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Debra McLoud has been named interim associate vice chancellor of human resources at the University of Arkansas Barbara Taylor, who retired effective Jan. 5. McLoud joined the human resources office in 1991, and has served as director of employee development and special programs since 2004. Her new appointment was made official Jan. 4.
“I am very honored by the administration’s confidence in me,” said McLoud. “I remain passionate about the university and about the work done in this office. I have learned a great deal working with Barbara Taylor and I will do my best to continue the tradition of excellence in human resources at the University of Arkansas.”
McLoud will continue to supervise employee development and special programs while serving as interim director.
“I have an excellent staff who are very capable of handling the extra duties I may need to pass on to them during this period. Our commitment to employee development and special programs will not change.”
McLoud received her B.S. in education and human resource development from the University of Arkansas in 1998 and her M.Ed. in human resource development from the university in 2008. She has been a certified Professional in Human Resources since 1999.
It is uncertain when a search will begin for a permanent associate vice chancellor for human resources. The university is currently under a hiring freeze, and it is possible that this position will be included in the freeze, at least until the end of the 2009-10 fiscal year.
