Dwayne Bensing

Since graduating from the U of A with a bachelor's degree in political science and communication, Dwayne Bensing has gone on to make a name for himself as a fierce legal advocate for those in the most need.

He was a Truman Scholar and a Philadelphia public school teacher before attending the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Rather quickly he found himself in the world of public service working at the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights and two years with the U.S. Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division. In 2014 he was named to the LGBT Bar 40 Under 40 by the National LGBT Bar Association.

He currently is a staff attorney at the Delaware branch of the American Civil Liberties Union.
