International Women's Day Event Planned for March 8

Olivera Jankovska (top left), Kim Needy (top right), Joellen Lambiotte (bottom left) and Alice McMillan (bottom right) will serve as panelists at an International Women's Day event held virtually on March 8.

The University of Arkansas Women's Giving Circle, in collaboration with the Arkansas Alumni Association, will honor International Women's Day with a virtual event on Monday, March 8.

The event will include a celebration of women's achievements and a conversation about how women can continue to be empowered through opportunities in education, leadership and philanthropy. Kelly Chaney, president of the Women's Giving Circle and library media specialist with Williams Elementary in Little Rock, will serve as the moderator of the event, which also features four panelists:

  • Kim Needy, dean of the College of Engineering at the U of A
  • Joellen Lambiotte, senior program advisor for Jhpiego
  • Alice McMillan, chief executive officer for M&C Advisors
  • Olivera Jankovska, community engagement associate for UNICEF USA

Needy and Lambiotte are both members of the Women's Giving Circle and McMillan and Jankovska are members of the Arkansas Alumni Association.

International Women's Day is celebrated around the world on March 8 and is powered by the collective efforts of women of all ages and backgrounds. The panelists at the event will share unique perspectives based on their diverse experiences.
