Office of Admissions Launches #ARGoestoCollege Campaign
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas Office of Admissions is partnering with the School of Journalism and Strategic Media to host the first ever #ARGoestoCollege live panel discussion at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, live on UATV and through social media.
High school seniors in Arkansas have the chance to connect with the Office of Admissions live and online to ask questions and learn more about admissions, housing and financial aid at the U of A. Throughout the month of October, students are also encouraged to follow #ARGoestoCollege on social media to receive important tips about preparing for college.
“Serving students in the state is at the very heart of our mission at the University of Arkansas,” said Suzanne McCray, vice provost for enrollment services and dean of admissions. “The Arkansas Goes to College campaign is an exciting way for us to reach students with the information they need to make plans for attending college next fall, and our upcoming online panel will give students and their parents yet another opportunity to connect with the University of Arkansas and find answers to their questions about admissions, scholarships, financial aid, the Honors College and more.”
Arkansas students who complete a Fall 2019 application for admission to the University of Arkansas by Oct. 18 will also be eligible for a drawing to receive one of ten $3,000, one-time scholarships the university is providing as part of the #ARGoestoCollege campaign. Full details on the scholarship drawing can be found at gotocollege.uark.edu.
Students and parents are encouraged watch UATV’s live streaming of the discussion on its Facebook or Twitter page at 4 p.m. Oct. 18 to tune in to UATV on Cox Channel 214.

- Matt Hargis as moderator
- Rafael Arciga Garcia, from admissions
- Alisha Gilbride, from housing
- Cody Hill, from scholarships and financial aid
- Noah Pittman, from the Honors College.
Students and parents can tweet questions to @uofaadmissions anytime between now and 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, using the hashtag #ARGoestoCollege.
