Nominations Open for 2018 Family of the Year

The application for Family of the Year is now open! Students interested in nominating their family as Family of the Year can fill out and submit their application online through HogSyncApplications must be submitted by noon CT on Monday, Aug. 27. Any University of Arkansas at Fayetteville student enrolled for fall 2018 who meets co-curricular requirements is eligible to submit an family application. Students are allowed to nominate their own family or another student's family for Family of the Year.

The Associated Student Government and Parent & Family Programs are proud to sponsor the Family of the Year. The Family of the Year represents the University as the model Razorback family. They are selected as the family who exemplifies the Arkansas spirit as well as the support that the family provides the student for success at the University.

"The Associated Student Government hopes that the winning family will feel appreciated and honored for their dedication to being an active part of the Razorback family," said Abigail Walker, ASG vice president. "We designed the Family of the Year recognition to honor the efforts of an outstanding family during the University of Arkansas' Family Weekend."

The Family of the Year will receive four tickets for the Arkansas Razorback football game versus the University of North Texas on Saturday, Sept. 14, and will be honored during the game. The family will also receive hotel accommodations and other benefits for their weekend. The university's official "Family Weekend" falls on Sept. 14-16.

"ASG is proud to partner with New Student and Family Programs to present the Family of the Year Award," said Michael McAllister, Assistant Director for Student Government Leadership. "When a student earns their name on Senior Walk we know that there was likely a supportive family presence that helped them get to graduation. To be able to recognize a current Razorback family making outstanding contributions to their student's success is a great way to show appreciation for the role they played."
