Electrical Engineering Professor to Serve as General Co-Chair for International Conference

Fisher Yu, Associate Professor in electrical engineering, will serve as general co-chair for the 2018 International Mid-Infrared Optoelectronics Conference.

Shui-Qinq "Fisher" Yu, associate professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, has been elected to serve as conference chair for the 14th International Conference on Mid-IR Optoelectronics: Materials and Devices to be held in October of next year in Flagstaff, Arizona.

The MIOMD Conference brings together over 100 researchers from all around the world to discuss the recent progress and future trends in infrared optoelectronics.

"I am very pleased to have the opportunity to work as the general co-chair to the community," stated Yu. "It will be an exciting reunion for researchers in the mid-infrared optoelectronics field to meet again after two years and exchange the latest developments. I really look forward to it."
