New Online Tech Support Coming Soon

Later this summer, a new online tech support service will replace AskIT to provide an improved self-service experience for students, faculty and staff.

The new service is powered by an IT service management (ITSM) tool with a suite of built-in features that can provide everything from online tech support and knowledge base articles to asset management, change management and more.

The Service Desk team is currently working toward the first phase of the roll-out, starting with the replacement of AskIT and the implementation of incident management with a fully-integrated knowledge base. Other features, including change management, will be rolled out in later phases.

Colleges and departments using AskIT-related sites that are not hosted at askit.uark.edu will not be affected during the first phase of the roll-out. To inquire about the future migration plans for a particular site, contact Stacy Crotser.

During the first two weeks of July, training will be provided to all tech support agents who use AskIT or who are assigned tickets via the IT Help Desk. A complete training schedule will be provided soon. For questions about training, contact Stacy Crotser.
