On May 27, Blackboard Learn will be upgraded with new assignment features that make online learning easier for students and faculty. Blackboard will be unavailable for up to 24 hours during the upgrade. This outage is planned after the end of May Intersession. See the IT Status Monitor for details about planned outages.

After the upgrade, students will see submission receipt messages with a confirmation number once an assignment is submitted. This feature gives students proof of submitted work and allows faculty to keep track of all submitted assignments, even after they've been deleted or moved.

Faculty will also have the ability to send automatic reminder emails to students who have not yet completed an assignment. Other new features include the ability to drag and drop files to submit assignments and an option to upload assignment files that are stored in your personal Dropbox account.

The Blackboard support team on campus offers open office hours to assist faculty with setting up their online courses. Don't wait to start making great online courses! Assistance is available 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday in the Gibson Annex.
