Libraries Host Third Annual Earth Day Poetry Reading

The University of Arkansas Libraries, the undergraduate creative writing RSO Fabula Bound, and Open Mouth Reading Series will host the third annual Earth Day Poetry Reading at 5 p.m. this Saturday, April 22, at Mount Sequoyah Gardens Park. This event is free and open to the public.
The reading will feature poems read by creative writing graduate students Bailey Hutchinson, Michelle Meyers, Molly Bess Rector, Zach Hester and Mekiya Walters, among others.
"I look forward to the Earth Day reading all year," said Michelle Gibeault, English and Communication Librarian. "The University of Arkansas Libraries are excited to continue this tradition which highlights local, creative work and celebrates the art of poetry."
Poets & Writers magazine consistently ranks the U of A Program in Creative Writing and Translation in the top 40 M.F.A. programs among hundreds nationwide. In 2007, The Atlantic Monthly named it one of the top five most innovative creative writing programs in the nation.
