Parents and Their Children Can Earn $500 for Participating in Nutrition Study
The Department of Food Science at the University of Arkansas is recruiting families (defined as at least one parent/guardian) with at least one overweight/obese child between the ages of 6-12 to participate in a nutrition study. In addition, no family members can have food allergies or food intolerances. Participants will receive $500 cash compensation. Participants will receive all supplies and a monthly grocery stipend.
The study involves six visits to the U of A and the Food Science Department over a 12- to 14-week period and measurements of the following: height, weight, waist-to-hip ratio, blood collection via intravenous puncture and 24-hour food intake records. The study may also require DXA for body composition for children.
Families will be required to complete the study in full in order to receive compensation.
