The College of Engineering has selected Emily Wood to serve as director of development and external relations. As director of development, Wood is responsible for the fundraising, communications and alumni engagement activities in the College of Engineering.

"I'm very pleased to announce that we have selected Emily as director of development and external relations," said John English, dean of the College of Engineering. "Since she came to the college a year ago, she has shown dedication and resourcefulness, and she has taken on roles of increasing responsibility without missing a beat. I am confident that her leadership and dedication will bring us success in Campaign Arkansas over the next few years."

"It is an honor to be chosen to serve the College of Engineering in this role," said Wood. "I look forward to continuing to partner with our outstanding alumni, faculty, and staff in the College of Engineering."

Wood began her role as director Jan. 1, 2017. She joined the College of Engineering as assistant director of development in December 2015, and she has served as interim director of development and external relations since September 2016.

Wood holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of Arkansas and a Master of Science degree in marketing from the University of Alabama. Before coming to Fayetteville, she worked as a development officer for a private fundraising consulting firm in Atlanta, Georgia, where she led clients' capital campaigns, and as a development specialist for the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation in Columbus, Ohio where she created the first undergraduate giving program for the organization.
