Amanda Pickett, October's RSO Member of the Month, is a vice president of the Higher Education Organization

Student Organization Outreach and Involvement Experience (SOOIE) is proud to announce Registered Student Organization (RSO) Member and Event of the Month for October. The winners are as follows:

The Member of the Month is Amanda Pickett from the Higher Education Organization. Pickett currently serves as the organization's Vice President of Professional Development. Amanda has been involved with the Higher Education Organization for almost two years and in that short time has played a key role in the organization's success. Pickett was praised for "going above and beyond to provide professional development events for members and working hard to plan events that are actually helpful for graduate students preparing to enter the workforce." Her peers say that she is organized, passionate, and always open to input from others. She currently is a graduate assistant for University Programs within the Office of Student Activities.

The Event of the Month was "Homecoming: Home on the Hill" hosted by the Student Alumni Association on Oct. 15 on the University of Arkansas campus. There were over 500 students in attendance at various events throughout the Homecoming celebration. SAA's Homecoming is a yearly tradition that includes all of campus, the city of Fayetteville, and our university's alumni in an effort to celebrate Razorback traditions. The event was preceded by a week-long celebration showing school pride, contributing to the food pantry on campus, and hosting the Homecoming Parade on Dickson Street.

Congratulations to these outstanding campus leaders and events!
