World Trade Center Interns: Where Will They Go Next?

Two interns who have worked the last year for the World Trade Center Arkansas are headed toward new lands.

Wheeler Richardson, a graduating honors student in the Sam M. Walton College of Business, will embark on a project with the Peace Corp this fall. Richardson has taken full advantage of her education and time at the university. In addition to her list of awards and accolades, she has earned a degree in Business Administration and minors in marketing, economics and nonprofit studies.

During her last year of school she worked as a student intern for the World Trade Center Arkansas. This summer she will say her goodbyes and make preparations to be gone for 2½ years. In October she leaves for Africa where Richardson will undergo go a three-month period of training in Accra, Ghana, before beginning her post. Whether she will be assisting in community development, agri-business, or health awareness, Richardson is excited to work in another region of the globe and make a difference for others. Wheeler has been a tremendous asset to the Center and we wish her the best in her endeavors.

Claire Beach, a student intern in the World Trade Center Arkansas, will be traveling to several countries during her International Service Learning Program this summer. Her ultimate destination will be a seven-week stay in Indonesia where she will be observing and conducting research for her project, Community Nature and Conservation, through the Honors College.

Beach is studying economics and international business in Walton College. She is observing and conducting research on the profitability of ecotourism business and environmental preservation in other parts of the globe, particularly developing countries.
