Delta Gamma to Visit Campus on April 25

Get to know Delta Gamma at 7 p.m. Monday, April 25, in the Donald W. Reynolds Center, Seminar A.

The informational meeting on Monday is for current students who may be interested in learning more about Delta Gamma.

Delta Gamma representatives will be on the UARK campus Monday and Tuesday to speak with the community, meet with Greek Life staff and sorority leaders, and learn more about chapter operations and management at the University of Arkansas.

This fall, Delta Gamma will re-establish at UARK with the Alpha Omega chapter and will be participating in Round One of Fall 2016 Sorority Recruitment. More specific information will come this summer.

Parice Bowser, director of Greek Life at UARK, said the informational meeting is a great way for students to learn more about the fraternity that is coming back to the UARK campus.

"We're excited about welcoming Delta Gamma back to the University of Arkansas family," Bowser said. "All of Greek Life is looking forward to meeting with them and letting the campus community get to know Delta Gamma a little better."

Delta Gamma's values are learning and growth, collaboration, professionalism, and integrity. The fraternity focuses on fostering high ideals of friendship, promoting educational and cultural interests, promoting a true sense of social responsibility and developing the best qualities of character. The women's organization has initiated more than 230,000 members since its inception 1873, in Oxford, Mississippi. The letters Delta and Gamma were chosen to represent "Do Good," and Delta Gamma adopted the anchor as its symbol, which stands for hope.

Delta Gamma has been dedicated to sight conservation since 1936, when a member who was blind asked the fraternity to consider aiding the visually impaired. Since that time, the Delta Gamma has given millions of dollars to organizations supporting their mission and its members have given hundreds of thousands of service hours to those living with blindness or visual impairments.
