FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Department of Supply Chain Management at the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas is ranked fifth globally on the SCM Journal List for articles published in empirically focused supply chain management journals.

The ranking is based on publication of peer-reviewed articles during the prior five years. The SCM Journal List ranking uses output from the top-tier journals that publish research across a broad spectrum of areas across the supply chain, in both the analytical and empirical arenas.

The journals looked at for the SCM Journal List empirical ranking include the journals from the leading supply chain management professional associations: APICS (Journal of Operations Management), CSCMP (Journal of Business Logistics), Decision Sciences Institute (Decision Sciences Journal) and ISM (Journal of Supply Chain Management).

The Walton College department is ranked No. 5 behind Michigan State University, Arizona State University, Ohio State University and University of Tennessee and just ahead of schools such as the University of South Carolina, University of Minnesota and Texas A&M University.
