FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — University of Arkansas Staff Senate has organized the first annual Staff Appreciation Week for the more than 5,000 staff members on the Fayetteville campus. From Monday, Oct. 12, through Sunday, Oct. 18, staff members can take part in special events and enjoy specially created discounts.

It’s also a chance for students, faculty and administrators to show their appreciation.

“It’s impossible to ignore the great job done by the University of Arkansas staff,” said interim Chancellor Dan Ferritor. “They keep our offices running smoothly, they keep our campus looking beautiful, they help our students and faculty solve countless problems on a daily basis. When you hear the word ‘staff’ you think of something that holds you up and helps you go forward – and that is what our staff does here at the University of Arkansas. We all recognize how important our staff are to us all – but Staff Appreciation Week gives us all a chance to both say ‘Thank you’ and show that we mean it.

During the week students, faculty and administrators can also shine a social media spotlight on their favorite staff members by tweeting #StaffSooie.
