The University of Arkansas International Culture Team recently held an awards banquet to celebrate student volunteers' achievements in bringing the world to the Northwest Arkansas community through cultural presentations, demonstrations, performances and cooking.

The team is a volunteer organization that brings global education to the U of A campus, local schools, businesses and community organizations throughout Northwest Arkansas.  Significant events that were a part of 2014-15 year on campus were Plaza de las Americas, International Education Week, International Women's Day and the Panamanian Immersion.  During the past year, 350 International Culture Team members from 62 countries provided cultural lectures and performances for more than 11,200 children and adults.

Members of the International Culture Team Award and Scholarship Committee selected and recognized accomplished campus communities and individuals who have shown true dedication and leadership in their contribution to the team throughout the year. The individuals recognized each received a $250 scholarship.
