The 5th annual Red, White & True faculty and staff giving campaign is underway at the U of A, and we're ensuring that it's a year to remember—literally!

Get your selfie sticks ready and practice your poses, because the volunteer team is issuing a Selfless Selfie social media challenge. It's a great way to shout out your reason for giving back and encourage your colleagues to give back, too.  And to say thanks, we're giving away some great prizes donated by local businesses and campus organizations along the way!

Joining the fun is easy:

  1. Show your pride. Make a gift, join the alumni association — or both — by April 24 to receive your Selfless Selfie thank you kit in campus mail. Annual membership is just $25, and a gift of any amount can be directed to any area of campus that's meaningful to you. Misplaced yours? You can also print out a sign or a participation form.

  2. Snap a picture. Use a dark marker to write in what you love supporting at the U of A on your sign and snap a picture. If a selfie is too tricky, recruit a friend to help. Camera shy? Feature just your sign or even the students who benefit from your generosity in your Selfless Selfie. Check out our Storify for inspiration.

  3. Post to win. Follow and share your photo with us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or all three. Use hashtags #uarkRWT and #ArkansasAlumni for a chance to win fun prizes, and tag three of your friends on campus to challenge them to post their Selfless Selfie, too.

Be sure to follow @UARedWhiteTrue on Twitter or like the University of Arkansas Annual Fund page on Facebook to see if you're one of our winners — like Robin January, scholarship coordinator for the Arkansas Alumni Association, and Autumn Parker, assistant director of undergraduate recruitment for Walton College. The earlier you participate, the more chances you have to win, so make your contribution today and be on the lookout for your Selfless Selfie kit in campus mail.

Special thanks go to University Recreation for donating two free massage gift cards, the Theatre Department for two pairs of tickets to opening night of "The Cherry Orchard" and Rick's Bakery for donating three $5 gift cards. We'll also be giving out a variety of Razorback goodies and even tickets to watch the spring Red-White game from the chancellor's skybox.
