Research Office to Hold NSF CAREER Award Writing Workshop
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Office of Vice Provost for Research and Economic Development is set to host a workshop for those preparing 2015 proposals for National Science Foundation Early Career Development Program awards, better known as CAREER awards.
The third annual workshop is scheduled for 1:30-4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 13, at the classroom at the Inn at Carnall Hall.
Please RSVP to research@uark.edu by Monday, April 6; include in the subject line: NSF CAREER Workshop. Because seating is limited to 20, priority will be given to junior investigators in their last year of eligibility.
The CAREER program serves a critical role in NSF efforts to identify, foster and support the nation's most promising junior faculty in both research and education. The workshop is designed to enable the university's junior faculty to compete successfully for the awards.
Workshop facilitators include research office staff and NSF CAREER awardees. The benefits of attending the workshop include:
- An overview of the CAREER program
- A panel discussion of crafting the proposal’s Broader Impacts
- A mock panel session with experienced NSF panelists and U of A CAREER awardees
- One-on-one discussions about your project and a review of your project summary with an experienced NSF reviewer
