Candidate for College of Education and Health Professions Dean to Visit Campus

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Michael McLendon, associate dean of the Simmons School of Education and Human Development at Southern Methodist University, will visit the University of Arkansas campus this week to speak with faculty, staff and students as a candidate for the position of dean of the College of Education and Health Professions.

McLendon will give a public presentation from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, in the Graduate Education Building auditorium (Room 166). He will speak on the topic “Vision for the College of Education and Health Professions at the University of Arkansas” during the open forum.

Tom Smith, who has been dean of the college since 2010, will return to the special education faculty this fall. He holds the rank of University Professor of special education and served one year as interim dean before being appointed to the position.
